Abstract: | Employee silence is a phenomena with numerous underlying causes and is a complex, perplexing behavior. Employee s deliberate suppression of recommendations, thoughts, andinformation at workplace has been linked to numerous significant personal and organizational newlineeffects. Review of existing literature suggests that silent behavior of employees is linkedtovarious dimensions of organizational climate including organizational justice, trust andcommunication opportunities. Although, substantial studies have been conductedonunderlying phenomenon of silent behavior and its abstract nature internationally, yet veryfewhave been conducted in Indian context. Also, very few relevant studies have exploredemployee silence in healthcare sector. Hence, in an attempt to deepen the knowledge of the concept in healthcare sector, the present newlinestudy has been carried out with sample size of 434 respondents working in selectedprivatehospitals in Punjab. The study was undertaken a) To examine the relationship betweenPerceived organizational climate with Employee silence and Perceived employeeperformance, b) To examine the mediating effect of Employee silence on the relationshipbetween Perceived organizational climate and Perceived employee performance andc) Toexamine the moderating effect of demographic profile of employees on the relationshipbetween Perceived organizational climate, Employee silence and Perceived employeeperformance. newline |
