Abstract: | newlineGood health is a must to enjoy good life. The importance of good health has been understood newlineby our forefathers. Ayurveda is a livening example of it. Today the changing society and life newlinestyle has brought to fore several challenges that were unheard of in the past. Covid-19 newlinepandemic is one such recent example where the entire world was compelled to be indoors for newlinemonths together. All civilisations have had their own health care systems. India in particular newlinehas different health care systems- allopathy, ayurveda, naturopathy, homeopathy and unani. newlineHealth is recognised as a right in various international documents like UN Charter, UNDHR newlineand the Covenants. The makers of constitution of India in fundamental rights and directive newlineprinciples of state policy have given due importance to health. The laws related to health can newlinebe classified into several categories like regulating health care professionals, drugs, epidemic, newlinematernity etc. The Indian judiciary has read right to life to mean as right to health. Although newlineseveral laws have been framed related to health there is a lack of umbrella legislation on newlinehealth. Further the government of Himachal Pradesh has implemented all central legislations newlineon health and has also enacted several laws as per the requirement from time to time. |
