Abstract: | Magneto rheological (MR) elastomer becomes very strenghful and advanced smart material that can be tuned and responded quickly in respect of mechanical properties by an application or without application of magnetic field. These are basically elastomer material in that iron elements are discrete in elastomer matrix. According to use of magnetic flux application at the time of fabrication process they are classified as Isotropic and Anisotropic MR elastomer. The distribution of magnetizable particles in matrix of elastomer are well distinct and arranged with regards to their types. Total eight samples are fabricated by taking different percentages of iron particles dispersed in an elastomeric matrix; out of them three isotropic and three anisotropic samples have to be made with different percentages of iron particles in a day curing time. From the remaining two samples one is made by inserting thin steel net layer by layer in an elastomeric matrix and another one is a simple elastomer. For first four samples morphology had been seen by Scanning Electrons Microscopy (SEM) and their mechanical performance had been seen by Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) analysis and DMA (Dynamic Mechanical Analysis). With their better morphological and mechanical features, they can be used to innumerable applications like vibration absorbers, isolators, seismic devices etc. newline |
