Abstract: The present investigation entitled Genetic architecture of fruit yield and its component newlineof Bottle gourd [Lagenaria siceraria (Mol.) Standl.] were conducted at vegetable newlineresearch farm, Department of Vegetable Science, Kalyanpur, C. S. Azad University of newlineAgriculture and Technology, Kanpur-208002 (U.P.) India. During Zaid, 2021 ten diverse newlinegenotypes of bottle gourd have crossed in diallel mating design (excluded reciprocals) to newlineproduce 45 F1s hybrids for source seed of F2s during Zaid 2022. All the ten parents, 45 F1s newlineand 45 F2s were grown in Randomized Block design with three replications. Observations newlinewere recorded on sixteen qualitative and quantitative characters viz., days to first newlinestaminate flower anthesis, days to first pistillate flower, node number to first staminate newlineflower appears, node number to first pistillate flower appears, ratio of pistillate: staminate newlineflowers, internodal length (cm), vine length at last picking stage (m), number of primary newlinebranches per plant, days to first fruit harvest, average weight per fruit (kg), number of fruits newlineper plant, fruit length (cm), total soluble solids (TSS)0 Brix, specific gravity of fruits (g/cc), newlinedry matter content (%), and fruit yield per plant (kg). The data of quantitative and newlinequalitative traits were analysed to fulfil the following objects: (i) To study about Genetic newlineVariability in Parent and their Crosses. (ii) To access the Combining ability Variances and newlinetheir effects. (iii) To estimate the Heterolytic Performance of F1. (iv) To find out the newlineestimates of Heritability and Genetic Advance. (v) To find out the association of characters newlineif any between Fruit Yield And other Contributing Characters. newline newline
