The advancements in communication demands microwave and THz frequency range newlineand antenna plays an important role in wireless communication. At high frequencies, newlinemetallic antennas are characterized by less efficiency due to conduction loss. In highfrequency communication, owing to the absence of conductor loss and surface waves, newlinethe dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) replaces the conventional metallic antenna. newlineReduced size, easiness of integrating with active circuits, high Q, high power handling newlinecapacity, etc. are the added advantages of DRA. DRA can be excited by different newlinemethods and metallic waveguide can be effectively used to feed the DRA. However, newlinethe efficient coupling for low permittivity DRA is a hurdle for the waveguide-fed newlineDRA. This research work investigates innovative and simple methods in the design newlineand development of waveguide-fed dielectric resonator antennas for excellent newlinecoupling efficiency. Dual-band antenna is cost-effective, as it can be used instead of newlinemultiple antennas and this research also aims to achieve dual-band and wide-band newlineoperations of the waveguide-fed DRA. As high gain is very important in many of the newlineapplications, investigation on the enhancement of gain is also focussed. The proposed newlinestructures describe different methods for coupling enhancement with minimum newlineconstructional complexity. One of the developed structures has been analyzed using newlineMoM to study the antenna characteristics in detail. Innovative designs for dual-band newlineand high-gain with excellent coupling are also illustrated. The antenna structures are newlinedesigned and the critical antenna parameters are simulated, measured, verified, and newlineanalyzed. newline
