Abstract: | newline newlineUrbanization is an integralpart ofa developing society. The rapid growth ofurbanization increases the mix of the population due to migration, inadequate physical facilities for the resident, imbalance in the economic status of thepeople, highdensepopulation fighting for their rightsand availtheir fundamental rights in the city. The whole situation leads to social tension among the citizen,and this entire situation will increase crime and violence in the city. Thefear and anxiety for risk is a greater related to women than men. People who feel vulnerable have more concern for safety e.g. women, the elderly, people with disabilities, and minorities. These groups of people feel fear from their superior ones, and they are subjected to more violence than others. newlineAnalyzing the effect of the built environment on crime prevention started in the early 1970s in western countries. These studies were a kind of reaction to the increasing number of crime occurrences in the urban area. But in India, this study is still at a very early stage of development according to the context. There is huge nowledgegap in the studies conducted in India context, as only 3% from total studies has been conducted on Indian context. newlineTo implement the CPTED ( crime prevention through built envirnment) as a tool in Indian cities, needs a clear explanation. This study aims to evolve and confirm a relationship between built environment and women s safety. Further in the research work variousparametersofbuilt environment have beenidentifiedwhich help in improving the built environment for crime prevention in the area. A perception survey and built assessment was conductedto evolve aequational methodofland usewhich helps in improving built environment for women s safety. Both survey is based on the parameters of CPTED, which include activity support, territoriality, maintenance, physical deterioration surveillance, etc.Finally, the findings can be used as a framework for the development of residential neighborhoods, especially for preve |
