dc.description.abstract | For this thesis work, we have considered five intensity and phase modulation formats for newlineenabling the designed system to perform adequately viz. Return to Zero (RZ), Carrier newlineSuppressed Return to Zero (CSRZ), Duo binary Return to Zero (DRZ), Modified newlineDuobinary Return to Zero (MDRZ) and Return to Zero-Differential Quadrature Phase newlineShift Keying (RZ-DQPSK). We have discussed theoretical aspects of different models newlinewhich are used for making analysis and simulation of Multi-Channel Multi-Gigabit newlineDWDM long-haul system considering 96 channels at data rate of 40 Gbps for 50 GHz newlinefrequency spacing in this dissertation to gain an insight that how these modulation newlineformats and other system components affect the performance of this designed system. The performance evaluation criteria for the varied launched powers and transmission newlinedistances are kept as BER and corresponding Q-factor values at acceptable level, Eye diagrams and OSNR via symmetrical reimbursement alone and in combination with pre newlineand post dispersion compensation methods as well deeming the fiber nonlinearities to newlinecomprehend the realistic environment. The simulation environment is provided by the newlineOptiSystem software having version 7.0 and advance version 19.0 from Optiwave using newlineSplit Step Fourier Method. Among the modulation formats, CSRZ and RZ-DQPSK have newlineshown much consistency, resilience and robustness against the bottlenecks appeared as dispersion and nonlinearities and supported a maximum transmission distance of more than 19000 km. We have made a thorough analysis for the proposed research work in this thesis through numerical simulation and the obtained results can play a significant role for the designing of efficient DWDM long-haul systems and the other upcoming advance Optical communication systems. newline newline | |
