dc.description.abstractDepression is a major health issue with a growing incidence and prevalence worldwide Traditional and complementary therapies such as yoga have emerged as promising adjunctive approaches in managing depression This study aimed to develop and validate an E module of a yoga protocol specifically tailored to individuals with mild and moderate depression and evaluate its efficacy using objective parameters The yoga protocol development was thorough, integrating therapeutic elements to target depressive symptoms It underwent validation via expert feedback and content validity ratio analysis ensuring essential yoga practices were included The final E module features user friendly yoga poses with video demonstrations and clear instructions A Randomized Control Trial was conducted among 90 participants diagnosed with mild to moderate depression The intervention group received the validated E yoga module alongside conventional treatment while the control group received conventional treatment alone Objective parameters including stress markers and Heart Rate Variability were evaluated pre and post intervention newline newlineResults indicated significant improvements in stress markers among participants in the yoga intervention group compared to the control group Decreased cortisol levels increased DHEA levels elevated Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factor levels and favourable alterations in HRV parameters were observed following the 12 week intervention period This study highlights the potential of E yoga as a safe, accessible and effective complementary therapy for individuals with depression. Further research is warranted to explore the long-term effects and scalability of E yoga interventions in diverse populations newline
