Abstract: Oxidoreductases are cofactor-dependent enzymes that catalyse reduction/oxidation newline(redox) reactions via transfer of redox equivalents or electrons between donor and newlineacceptor molecules. They are ubiquitously distributed throughout the tree of life as newlineevident from fact that they are integral part of metabolic pathways and are implicated newlinein catalysis of redox reactions. This thesis reports the finding related to identification newlineand characterization of two new NAD(P)H-dependent oxidoreductases and their role newlinein (bio)synthesis of anthraquinone-derived natural products, and application of a newlineknown oxidoreductase in generation of superoxide for in vitro studies newline
