Abstract

Generally, urbanisation is meant as the proportion of population living in towns and newlinecities and fringe is the intermediate zone between urban and the rural areas having mixed newlineland use and socio-economic status. In the process of urbanisation, urban expands newlinebeyond its urban limit and influences the land use land cover pattern and livelihood newlinestatus of its fringe areas. So, analysis of urbanisation, delineation of fringe areas, newlineappraisal of quality of life of a city and its fringe area are significant for sustainability of the city and its surrounding villages. newline
