Abstract: In India, beedi manufacturing is one of the oldest agro-forest based industries which has newlineplayed very crucial role in the economy and also continuing to influence the socio-economic newlinelife of the workers involved in this industry. Since there is no eligibility criterion for the newlineworkers employed in the beedi industry, most of the workers engaged in this industry come newlinefrom unemployed, uneducated and underprivileged sections of the society. This industry has newlineshown a means of earnings, especially to the financially weaker and socially backward people. newlineA large number of the unorganised sector workers (about 45.7 million people) are engaged in newlinethis industry. newline
