Abstract: Researchers are looking for different ways to formulate existing Active Pharmaceutical newlineIngredients (APIs) as a result of the pharmaceutical industry s declining trend of funding newlinefor research into novel therapeutic molecules and the rise in tropical illnesses and newlineepidemics. High costs and longer periods make it a difficult task for the pharmaceutical newlineindustry. Since cocrystal engineering can adjust the physicochemical characteristics of an newlineAPI without compromising its biological efficacy, it has drawn much interest in newlineformulation techniques during the past decade. Designing and modifying crystal newlineformations to acquire specific chemical and physical characteristics is possible via crystal newlineengineering. Controlling the crystal structure helps in the development of drug newlineformulations with enhanced solubility, dissolution rates, Stability, and bioavailability. newlineThis can improve drug delivery systems, ensuring that the active pharmaceutical newlineingredient reaches its target more effectively. In the past two decades, polymorphs and newlinecocrystals have drawn attention due to their various property modification. It is highly newlineessential to screen drugs for polymorphs and control them to avoid patent issues. It is newlineimportant to ensure that the patent of a drug contains all the forms of the drug.
