Abstract: | The announcement of the appointment of all white Simon Commission in newlineNovember 1927 to go into the question of constitutional reforms in India radically newlinealtered the politics of the country and also of Punjab. Once again after the newlineappointment of all Simon Commission, various political parties jointly boycotted the newlineSimon Commission. They also joined their heads together for finding a solution to newlinetheir communal problem through All Parties Conference. The Conferences resulted in newlineproducing a first ever Constitution for Indians framed by Indians. But the Report of newlinethe Committee, popularly called Nehru Report also stating a serious of reactions and newlinecounter-reactions till the British put aside the Constitution prepared by it and newlineannounced Communal Award. There was heated politics in India as well in Punjab newlineduring this period over the various commissions appointed by the government, and newlinethe Conferences convened by the Indian political groups to find solution to their newlinecommunal problem. In this Thesis, an attempt is being made to study the politics of newlinePunjab between 1928-1947, my research will be useful for the scholar who are newlinewaking of Indian Politics and its major political activities and movements in India, till newlineIndependence. newline |
