Abstract: The word ecosystem was first used by the famous British ecologist Arthur Tansley in the year 1935 to show the importance of the delivery of material between organisms and their surroundings. The definitions of ecosystem have gone through many alterations over a period of time. In the simplest of words, the ecosystem can be defined as an area where all kinds of organisms, that is, Kingdom Protista, Kingdom Monera, Kingdom fungi, Kingdom Plantae and Kingdom Animalia co-exist in a similar kind of environmental condition to form a bubble of life. In order to explain the ecosystem more elaborately, we must know two more terms often used in the study of ecosystem, population, and community. If a group of individuals who belongs to the same species is living under the same area with the same environmental factor and sharing the same resources, they form a population. If two or more such population co-exists, they are bound to interact forming a community. newline
