Abstract: Access to justice is a fundamental human right, yet many individuals face significant newlinebarriers in navigating the legal system, particularly those from marginalized communities. This thesis examines the efficacy of free legal aid programs in addressing these barriers and promoting equitable access to justice. The study begins by providing a comprehensive overview of the concept of access to justice, highlighting its importance in safeguarding individual rights and promoting social justice. It then explores the various barriers faced by individuals in accessing legal assistance, newlineincluding financial constraints, lack of legal knowledge, and geographical isolation. newlineNext, the thesis conducts a comparative analysis of free legal aid programs implemented in different jurisdictions, examining their organizational structure, funding mechanisms, service delivery models, and outcomes. Case studies and empirical data are used to assess the impact of these programs on individuals, communities, and the justice system as a whole. Furthermore, the study investigates the challenges and limitations faced by free legal aid programs, such as resource constraints, capacity issues, and coordination with other social newlineservices. It explores innovative approaches and best practices for overcoming these challenges, including leveraging technology, strengthening partnerships, and enhancing community engagement. The thesis concludes by offering recommendations for policymakers, legal practitioners, and civil society organizations to enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of free legal aid programs. By addressing the root causes of legal inequality and empowering individuals to assert their rights, these programs have the potential to foster a more just and newlineinclusive society. newline
