dc.description.abstractThis research gives an understanding of perception of teachers, professionals and students trainees towards Soft Skills, Hard Skills and Competencies. As acquiring Soft Skills and Hard Skills is a prerequisite for becoming competent in the social work profession, which is determined by the knowledge, abilities, ethics, and values of the field. When professionals of Social Work, acquire these competencies which are soft, hard, and competencies Professionals can have newlinea significant impact on the social work profession. These competencies can only newlinebe acquired via professional practice, and this will be only possible when students receive appropriate guidance and instruction in theory and fieldwork. So it is the duty and the responsibility of teachers of social work profession to impart student trainees to continually strive to increase their professional knowledge and skills and apply them in practice. In the present descriptive study an effort has been made to prepare the list of essential competencies required in newlinesocial work profession, through understanding perceptions on soft, hard and competencies and its role in in the social work profession. The teachers and professionals from social work profession and student trainees from School of Social Work of Gujarat were considered and covers as the main unit of the study. Keeping in view the objectives of the present study a total sample size of 300 was covered. Both types of sources of data were used for the study along with the questionnaire as a tool for data collection. From the findings, the result of newlinethe study shows that the majority of the respondents found no significant association between gender, work area, occupation, and years of experience with soft skills, hard skills, and competencies, but significant correlations were found between Teachers. Professionals and Student Trainees and Soft Skills, Hard Skills and Competencies.
