In many applications of plasma physics, the plasma instability plays a vital role, for instance instabilities in the controlled thermonuclear fusion, instability in space and astrophysical phenomenon e.g., solar corona, magnetopause, magnetosphere etc. Thus, this thesis is intended to the study of magnetohydrodynamic fluid instabilities in astrophysical plasma by using normal mode analysis. The problems of such eminent fluid instabilities like Rayleigh Taylor and jeans instabilities are investigated in the thesis. The first chapter is a general introduction to the work of thesis, where, it describes the basic concept of plasma such as the plasma criterion, occurrence of plasma in space and laboratories, application of plasma, theoretical approaches, plasma instabilities and analysis of plasma instabilities. A brief introduction to Rayleigh-Taylor instability and jeans instability is also given in the first chapter. The second chapter is concerned with the study of Rayleigh Taylor instability with the influence of quantum effect in magnetized strongly coupled plasma. In this chapter, we have incorporated the influence of quantum effect on Rayleigh Taylor instability with magnetic field. The chapter three describes the Rayleigh Taylor instability in rotating, magnetized strongly coupled quantum plasma. In this chapter we incorporate the effect of rotation to the system with magnetic field and quantum effect. newlineThe chapter four is the investigation of Rayleigh Taylor instability and internal waves in magnetized quantum plasma. In this chapter we examine the effect of variable magnetic field to the system in the presence of quantum effect. The chapter five describe the study of Rayleigh Taylor instability and internal waves in strongly coupled quantum plasma. In this chapter we examine the effect of variable magnetic field and rotation to the system. The chapter six is the study of Jeans instability in viscoelastic anisotropic plasma. In this chapter we analyse the effect of quantum pressure to the system. Finally, Cha
