Exploration of Anethum graveolens germplasm From North Western Himalayan Region for Antimicrobial Activity and Augmentation of its Activity

Abstract

The present study investigated the genetic diversity of Anethum from North Western newlineHimalayan region which is one of the underexplored crop in India. The exploration of newlinegenetic diversity of A. graveolens may provide insights into richness of its diversity newlineprevalent in North Western Himalayan region that can be used for commercial newlineapplications, for the development of improved varieties and developing conservation newlinestrategies. We also characterized its volatile metabolites and established their newlineantimicrobial role. We also used the plant extract for the biosynthesis of silver newlinenanoparticles and explored them for value addition to this underexplored crop such as newlineheavy metal stress alleviation. newline
