Abstract: According to the recent Educational Surveys, many positive changes have newlineoccurred in school education since 2002 in terms of access, enrolment, newlineretention, participation in school processes, and achievement, thanks to various newlineinitiatives such as the District Primary Education Program (DPEP), Sarva newlineSiksha Aviyan (SSA) and others. Reports reveal that girls drop out at a newlinehigher rate than boys across all social groups. The GER (Gross Enrolment newlineRatio) in Upper Primary is 71.67 for boys and 71.64 for girls. The GER for newlineboys in Secondary schools is 54.55, while the GER for girls is 53.60. The Net newlineEnrolment Ratio (NER) in Upper Primary is 56.24 for boys and 56.32 newlinefor girls. newline
