Abstract: River bank erosion is a natural, dynamic, and inevitable phenomenon of alluvial river. It will occur when the magnitude of running water exceeds the shearing resistance of bank materials on base of the river bank. The prime objective of the present study is to identify the impact of Ganga-Bhagirathi river bank erosion on physical and socio-economic environments. newline
