Abstract: Mechanism of loading in sports training involves application of load as well as recovery process. In fact loading and recovery are considered to be two important aspects of the same unit- training load. Therefore these two processes have been studied and analyzed for understanding their functioning. A sufficient number of research works have conducted to analyze the aspect of loading. On the other hand there are not many investigations to analyze and understand the recovery process. newlineSportspersons, especially elite sportspersons leads very demanding lives, undergoing rigorous training regimes that push their psychological and physiological boundaries. Sportspersons also experience professional and social stressors, which compound the stressors typically associated with training. To maximize adaptations to training the sportsperson must strike a balance between training, competition and training. This can be achieved through a balanced lifestyle in which training, social life and are held in check. newlineProfessionalism in sport has provided the foundation for elite athletes to focus purely on training and competition. Furthermore, high-performance sport and the importance of successful performances have led athletes and coaches to continually seek any advantage that may improve performance. It follows that the rate and quality of recovery are extremely important for the high-performance athlete and that optimal recovery may provide numerous benefits during repetitive high-level training and competition. Therefore, investigating different recovery interventions and their effects on fatigue, muscle injury, recovery and performance is important. newline
