Abstract: | As we know, now a days everything is more dependent on technology, also all the newlineprivate and government organizations are using technology for accomplishing each and newlineevery task. This results into that they are more prone to threats. Threats can be newlineoriginated from inside or outside the organization. As per the study, insider threats are newlineincreasing in number as compared to external threats and even more dangerous too. Due newlineto more privacy factors and hierarchy system within the organization external threats newlinecan be easily detected as compared to insider threats. So, there is need to focus on newlinedetection of insider threats. As lot of research has been undertaking on insider threat newlinedetection using user activity logs for analyzing behavior but no such extensive research newlinehas carried out on behavior detection using emails and its content. newlineThis research purposed an optimization- based strategy for the detection of insider newlinethreats. Spider monkey optimization is applied to detect the sentiments present within newlinethe R4.2 cert data set. This data set has been generated by the university of Carnegie newlineMellon and is used to detect insider threats.
