Abstract: Depository System is undeniably a time-tested and globally established structure newlinewhich has a remarkable role in the Capital Markets. Financial services nature is changing newlinewith advancement in technology and global unification that enables new professionals to newlinecompete more efficiently for customers. The changes in technology expedite the development newlineof the financial sector by reducing the cost, expanding quality, breadth, and range of financial newlinesectors. The depository system has changed the face of the Indian capital market. It has newlineremoved the physical, structural and the systematic risk that is built-in to the physical newlinesecurities market. It not only removed the bottleneck but also enhanced liquidity, improved newlinetrading, and settlement. All the securities in this system are identical and thus fungible. newline
