Developing a Model for the Adoption of Telemedicine by Doctors in India

Abstract

There is a well-known saying that equates health with wealth. The past relatively peaceful newlineand prosperous half century has indeed seen the healthcare sector in general being associated newlinewith technological breakthroughs promising painless good health and long life to all those newlinewho could afford it (Thimbleby,2013). This does not mean that the benefits of the myriad newlinemedical tools and techniques, and pharmaceutical innovations among other things have not newlinepercolated to the masses (Zheng and George, 2018). Many government schemes have tried to newlineopen up access to quality healthcare to the masses through publicly subsidized schemes like newlinethe 2008 Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY) or the 2018 National Health Protection newlineScheme namely Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme as newlineper National Health Authority (2020).
