There is a well-known saying that equates health with wealth. The past relatively peaceful newlineand prosperous half century has indeed seen the healthcare sector in general being associated newlinewith technological breakthroughs promising painless good health and long life to all those newlinewho could afford it (Thimbleby,2013). This does not mean that the benefits of the myriad newlinemedical tools and techniques, and pharmaceutical innovations among other things have not newlinepercolated to the masses (Zheng and George, 2018). Many government schemes have tried to newlineopen up access to quality healthcare to the masses through publicly subsidized schemes like newlinethe 2008 Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY) or the 2018 National Health Protection newlineScheme namely Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme as newlineper National Health Authority (2020). But the socio-economic conditions of the country has newlinemade the task of ensuring a long, healthy and productive life for all citizens a difficult one. newlineAccording to Organisation of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) report newline(2020), the Covid-19 pandemic has exposed the diminished efficacy of conventional newlineresolutions proposed to meet challenges stated above. newline
