dc.description.abstractIndia is an emerging economy (Pandey, 2015; Van de Wetering, 2020). In the year 2015, newlinethe International Monetary Fund (IMF) expected that India will retain, its recently acquired newlinestatus of fastest growing major economy. The industry is developing at a very fast rate in India. newlineWorld Economic Outlook Report 1 (2015) indicates that in the year 2015, India witnessed an newlineannual economic growth of 7.5%, while global economic growth was 3.1%. Other major newlinecountries like USA had economic growth of 2.6% and India s neighboring country China newlinerecorded the economic growth at 6.8%. This indicates the significance of the capitalization of newlinefunds in the economic system. Indian economy is one of the rapidly developing economies, with newlinecorporate governance norms equal to developed economies (Dey andamp; Chauhan, 2009). According newlineto a report released by the London-based Price Waterhouse Cooper (PWC) in 2017, titled The newlineWorld in 2050 , Fast growth rate of India will help Indian economy to overtake the USA to newlinebecome the second top economy in the world in 2050 (after China), on the basis of GDP and newlinePurchasing Power Parity (PPP). However, earlier in 2016, on the basis of GDP and PPP, this newlinereport had placed India on the third position (after China and the USA). newline
