Abstract: | Higher educational institutions play a vital role in achieving social equity by promoting economic and social development. The success of any HEI largely depends on the dedication, commitment, efforts and contribution of academic staff. Organizational citizenship behaviour is essentially an assessment of the performance of the employees which is necessary to support substantially to the organization s progress and success. To cope with changing environment, the new normal demands higher performance from the faculty members. Under such work environment, the personality traits and the perception of organizational support of a person play a vital role in handling challenges and have a greater impact on organizational citizenship behaviour which enhances the sustainability of any institution Therefore, to improve the effectiveness of an organization and goal accomplishments it is crucial to understand the factors impacting the organizational citizenship behaviour of the academicians. Employees have a tendency to display Organizational Citizenship Behaviour (OCB) when they realise how their organisation would support them, which is known as Perceived Organizational Support (POS) and this perception depends on the dominant Personality Traits (PT) of the employees newline |
