Abstract: newline Abstract: newlineNagdantyadi ghrita is an Ayurvedic formulation which is recommended to use in the management of snake poison, Keeta visha, Yakrut vikara and Gara visha etc. Hence the study was designed to investigate its hepatoprotective efficacy against Paracetamol induced hepatotoxicity in wistar rats. Total five groups were made of wistar albino rats for the study in which Paracetamol was used to induce hepatotoxicity and Silymarin was used as a reference standard drug to compare the efficacy of Nagdantyadi ghrita. Various biochemical parameters and histopathology studies were done to explore the hepatoprotective property of Nagdantyadi ghrita. Boichemical parameters like SGOT, SGPT, T. Bilirubin, ALP etc. confirm the efficacy of Nagdantyadi ghrita along with silymarin as a hepatoprotective agent. Histopathological study also confirms the same. This study gives a scientific evidence for its commercial and traditional use in various liver ailments being a hepatoprotective agent. newlineKey words: Nagdantyadi ghrita, Yakrut vikar, Gara visha, Hepatoprotective, Paracetamol.
