Abstract: | Researchers have recognized the transformative power of blockchain technology in digitizing various business processes and enforcing privacy during transactions. Despite this recognition, there is a limited number of business scenarios illustrating blockchain s efficacy in e-governance. It is imperative to identify these scenarios to fully adopt blockchain technology s capabilities within the e-governance sector. Doing so will facilitate the adoption of blockchain and enhance transparency in critical business processes. newlineTo address this research gap, this thesis identifies three fundamental business scenarios that are common across organizations: approval processes, asset management, and E-voting. Approval processes involve tracking the workflow of documents, such as proposals requiring approval from multiple authorities. Asset management entails monitoring the life cycle of organizational assets, such as desktops, servers, and vehicles. E-voting represents an enterprise process for electing leaders within organizational units. newlineThe thesis introduces a blockchain-based approach to implementing an approval process and asset management system within an enterprise. Also, it addresses the challenges associated with identifying functional and non-functional requirements, aligning them with blockchain components, and translating business requirements into a technological framework for the three proposed business scenarios. Furthermore, the thesis explores the importance of usability requirements when newlineintegrating blockchain technology into e-governance processes. Adopting blockchain technology for enterprise-level governance processes enhances transparency, security, and efficiency and offers the potential for further expansion by integrating data analytics for informed decision-making. |
