Abstract

newline Constant research activity and the availability of more advanced analytical instrumentation is leading to the discovery of many new drugs globally. These drugs may be either entirely new molecules or structural modifications of the existing drugs. Vast numbers of dosage forms containing these new drugs are being introduced into the drug markets continuously. This in turn, may also lead to illicit trafficking of substandard and spurious drugs formulations in the consumer market. It is necessary that the drug content either in its raw material samples or its formulations should be determined to check its purity. Hence, better analytical methods should be developed for determining these drugs in bulk samples and formulations. Most of the pharmaceutical companies depend on quantitative chemical analysis so that the raw material used as well as the final product obtained from them satisfy the quality requirements.
