Abstract: | Nanoparticles (NPs) have recently drawn immense interest, but unifunctional newlineproperty and possible secondary toxic effects are two major obstructions to their newlinecommercialization. Here we report improvedmultifunctional properties of bimetallic newline(Au-Ag) alloy NPs in terms ofantioxidant and antifungal efficiency and catalytic newlineactivity on pesticide and dyes degradation along with ecological safety. newlineWe first developed an easy, eco-friendly and economical strategy for newlinebiosynthesis of monometallic Au, Ag and bimetallic Au Ag alloy NPs using aqueous newlineextract of Polyalthia longifolia leaf as reducing and stabilizing agent. After that, we newlineoptimized the various process parameters (reactant proportion, temperature, time, and newlinepH) for biosynthesis of monometallic Ag, Au and bimetallic Au Ag alloy NPs. The newlinebiosynthesized NPs were characterized by UV-vis, DLS, Zeta potential, TEM and newlineEDX study while the probable biomolecules responsible for biosynthesis were newlineidentified by FTIR and GC-MS analysis. The NPs are found to be mostly spherical in newlineshape (size 5-20 nm) with prolonged stability. newline |
