Abstract: | Employee engagement of AYUSH graduates working in Modern Medicine newline Hospitals newline Background: Employee engagement is critical to any organization that seeks to retain valued newline employees. It is very important for effective utilisation of human resource and smooth running of newline the organization. Without employee engagement organization cannot survive for long period of newline time (Vazirani, 2007). Based on literature review it clearly explore that the gap for the proposed newline study. Literature shows that there are many studies conducted on employee engagement but very newline few on the area of healthcare sector specially AYUSH graduates. This motivate researcher to newline choose this topic for the research. The basic aim of this study was to measure the level of employee newline engagement by exploring the relation among demographic variables, occupational aspiration, past newline working environment, frame of mind of AYUSH graduates, antecedent variables and outcome newline variables of employee engagement of AYUSH graduates working in the modern medicine hospital. newline Methods: A combined research paradigm that is mixed methods research were used for this study. newline The area of study was Ahmedabad, in the state of Gujarat. In this research both the interview and newline questionnaire followed convenience and snowball sampling techniques. There were some newline practical considerations for choosing the sampling technique for this study. First, the newline population for the study was AYUSH graduates working in modern medicine hospitals in newline Ahmadabad, Gujarat. These were widely dispersed population. Second, it was not feasible to newline acquire measures of the whole population due to the practical consideration of expense, time newline and accessibility. Third, it was not available to use random sampling technique, because the newline unknown details, like contact information, mobile numbers and present working location of all newline AYUSH graduate were not available.Results and Conclusion: In this study the sample size for quantitative research was 244, whereas in newline qualitative it was 28 participants. Quantitative results found that, correlation of subscales of newline employee engagement vigor (r = .806, p lt .01), dedication (r = .767, p lt .01) and absorption (r = newline .625, p lt .01) were strong positive and significantly correlated with employee engagement. This newline indicated that there was a strong significant relation among them. Additionally, a frequency newline analysis of total score of employee engagement indicated that 7.8% (n = 19) of the respondents newline reported low engagement Level. 33.2% (n = 81) of the respondents reported average engagement newline Level. 54.1% (n = 132) of the respondents reported above average engagement level. Whereas, newline 4.9% (n = 12) of the respondents reported strong engagement level among the AYUSH graduates. newline In support to that and based on thematic content analysis researcher found total 1124 sub codes for newline different themes exists in interviewed data. Out of these total sub codes, 55 sub codes grouped with newline 6 main codes which were found to be associated with the theme employee engagement. Out of newline these 6 main codes 5 main codes explained positive engagement in total around 89.09%. Whereas newline remaining 1 main code explained 10.91% negative engagement of the participants. this supports newline the study hypothesis 1. Similarly, triangulation result supports all remaining hypothesis of this newline study. Finally, based on triangulation, results derived from quantitative as well as qualitative newline methodology were found that there is a relation exist among demographic variables, occupational newline aspiration, past working environment, frame of mind of AYUSH graduates, antecedent variables newline and outcome variables with employee engagement of AYUSH graduates working in the modern newline medicine hospital. newline Keywords: Employee Engagement; AYUSH; AYUSH graduates; Modern Medicine Hospitals newline |
