Abstract

Agriculture is the backbone of rural society and the primary source of income in many nations throughout the world. Any abrupt and significant changes that affected the agricultural sector could have a serious negative influence on the social and political stability of economically developing nations. In nations where the sector is less significant economically, agriculture also plays a significant role in rural development, particularly due to land use. The cropping pattern analysis of Rewari District highlights the cultivation trends of both Rabi and Kharif crops over the years. In the Rabi season, which spans from October to March, farmers predominantly grow crops like Wheat, Mustard, Gram, and Barley. Wheat and Mustard are prominent Rabi crops with their areas fluctuating over the years. The study reveals a decline in Wheat cultivation from 1996 to 2021. Mustard cultivation has shown variations, increasing in 2001 but decreasing in 2021. Fallow land, left unplanted, has experienced changes as well, seeing a substantial increase in 2021. newline
