dc.description.abstract | newline Virtual Power Plants (VPP) are one of the developing concepts in newlinepower systems engineering to improve the participation of renewable energy newlinesources in the power market. A power plant is a collection of Distributed newlineEnergy Resources (DER) to coordinate with grid operation. Small-scale newlinerenewable energy sources are unable to participate in the power market due to newlinetheir uncertainty. DER is facing the challenges of power losses, voltage newlinevariations, and revenue losses in the distribution network, and the result is the newlinemaximum amount of power purchased from the electrical grid. The above newlineissues are overcome by the proposed VPP concept. This research work newlineinvestigates the Local Search Optimization (LSO) algorithm-based Virtual newlinePower Plant for energy management in the distribution network and newlineProportional Resonant (PR) controlled VPP to improve the dynamic newlineresponses. newline The VPP is modeled with solar PV, wind power plant, energy newlinestorage system, and variable Loads. The characteristics, classification, newlineinterfaces, and requirements of the VPP model are analyzed. The newlineconventional demand response-based Mixed Integer Linear Programming newline(MILP) algorithm is applied to the IEEE-9 and IEEE-37 bus VPP and their newlineresults of power demand, DERs power, and purchasing power are analyzed. newlineLSO algorithm-based VPP is proposed to reduce the purchasing power from newlinethe conventional grid. The proposed virtual power plant is implemented using newlineIEEE-9 and IEEE-37 bus system and their performances are analyzed. | |
