Abstract: This study deals with the forced migration of Rohingya and their settlement in Jammu City. This study explored the reasons for the forced migration of Rohingya from their country of origin, i.e. Myanmar. The main push factors that forced them to flee their place of origin were systematic and discriminatory policies, denial of citizenship, violence, human rights violations, absence of basic rights etc. Factors like Freedom, Safety, Security, livelihood opportunities etc., attracted them towards Jammu as their place of destination. The existing socio-economic conditions of the Rohingya staying in Jammu City have been analysed. The process of settlement of Rohingya in Jammu city has also been described. The research design for the study was a combination of both exploratory and descriptive. Further, 250 respondents were interviewed. To get complete information, primary data was collected, and secondary data was also used. The perceptions of the local community people of Jammu City have been analysed and were both positive as well as negative based on factors like the impact of hosting them on the local population and host society, duration of their stay or future of Rohingya and security concerns. newline
