Abstract: | Background: Acharya Charaka in 8th chapter of Vimanasthana explained dashavidha pareekshya bhava i.e. prakriti, sarata, samhanana, praman etc. to ascertain strength status of patient. These tools of examination are also useful to judge the health and strength status of healthy individual. In the light of modern science, strength and fitness means the organic system of the body is fine and it functions with full energy to complete vigorous tasks and leisure activities. Physical fitness represents that the individual is enough healthy to carry out day today activities comfortably and capable to spend additional energy to enjoy hobbies and recreation. Physical fitness is divided in two types as health related fitness designated for good health outcomes and performance or sports competition or skill related fitness aimed for acquiring best sports skills. Health related physical fitness represents curative as well as preventive aspect of health. It includes five health components as body composition, muscular strength, muscular endurance, cardio-respiratory fitness and flexibility. The ALPHA-FIT test battery for adults is one of reliable, valid and easily applicable sets of tests used for assessment of health related physical fitness. It explains standard operating procedures of health-related fitness tests. This study is aimed to find association of physical fitness with sharir prakriti, dhatusarata and Charakokta angulipraman. For fulfilling the aim detailed review and assessment of physical fitness, sharir prakriti, dhatusarata and angulipraman will be carried with comprehensive parameters. newlineMethod: After obtaining Institutional Ethics Committee permission, 200 normal healthy individuals of either sex (age group 22 to 35 years) were recruited in the study. Their Sharir prakriti and dhatusarata evaluation was done using a standardized validated questionnaire and software (Ayusoft C-DAC). |
