Title: Study the Efficacy of Soya Bean Glycine Max in the Management of Menopausal Syndrome

Abstract: This research work was carried out in Post-menopausal women with menopausal symptoms having age 42 to 55 years. It was single arm clinical study before and after treatment. The patient were advised to consume 75 grams of soya bean daily in the morning and 75 grams of soya bean daily in the evening with usual breakfast in the germinated form or having sprouts two times a day as a whole after removing outer covering. No dietary regulations were observed. The treatment was of 3 months duration. Patients were assessed for symptoms of menopause before and after intervention. It was clearly observed that, soya bean (Glycine Max) was effective in the management of menopausal syndrome. The overall 76.94% efficiency was observed from baseline visit to end of study visit in case of physical symptoms. Also overall 75.76% efficiency was observed from baseline visit to end of study visit in case of psychological symptoms. newlineIt was observed through this study that, Soya bean (Glycine Max) is effective in the management of menopausal syndrome. Better efficiency was observed from baseline visit to end of study visit in case of physical and physiological symptoms. Also good efficiency was observed from baseline visit to end of study visit in case of psychological symptoms. Rajonivritti is a physiological condition. There is less information available on rajonivritti in all Ayurvedic texts. It is considered as ageing by all acharyas. Also very less light is thrown on it snidana, purvarupa, rupa, samprapti.Only rajonivritti kala has been mentioned by almost all Acharyas. According to modern view menopause is due to age related hormonal changes. FSH causes ovaries to produce estrogen, when they slow down their production of estrogen, the levels of FSH increase resulting in different vasomotor, physiological and psychological symptoms. Relief of physiological and psychological symptoms was observed in the patients. Soybean has the potential to maintain physical, mental, psychological health.
