Abstract: | Learning styles can be described as a set of factors, modes of behavior and newlineattributes that facilitate learning for an individual in a given situation. They serve as newlinerelatively stable indicators of how learners perceive, interact with and respond to the newlinelearning environment. Learning styles are the preferred approaches of an individual to newlineinformation processing, idea formation and decision making. newlineLearning styles of students differ at different stages of learning. Visual learning, newlineAuditory learning, Read and write learning and Kinesthetic learning (VARK) are the newlinemost commonly preferred learning styles of students at secondary level. newlineThe present investigation is an attempt to study the perceptions of secondary newlineschool students towards Visual, Auditory, Read and write and Kinesthetic learning styles; newlineand their impact on the Interest and Achievement of students in Biological Science. newlineFurther, the investigator studied the influence of different demographical variables such newlineas gender, age, caste, class, locality, Educational qualifications of parents (father and newlinemother), Occupation of parents (father and mother), Parental income, School newlinemanagement and Type of family on the perceptions of students towards Learning styles, newlineInterest in Biology and the Achievement of students in Biological Science. The study newlinealso examined the relationship between Students Learning styles, their Interest in newlineBiology and Achievement in Biological Science in secondary schools of Visakhapatnam newlinedistrict in Andhra Pradesh. newlineThe investigator used Descriptive Survey method for the present study. The newlineresearcher used simple Random sampling technique to draw a sample consisting of 900 newlinestudents (450 Boys and 450 Girls) from classes 8th and 9th studying in the secondary newlineschools located in the Rural, Urban and Tribal areas in Visakhapatnam district of Andhra newlinePradesh.
