Abstract: Sivakasi city located in India producing utmost firecrackers newlinethroughout the global world next to China. Within India eighty proportions of newlinefireworks units are established in and around villages of Sivakasi city, newlineVirudhunagar district of Tamilnadu state. Due to hot weather conditions at a newlinemaximum number of days in a year and dry land availability, business people newlinehad chosen Sivakasi as a best geographical area for fireworks manufacture. newlineBased on the annual report of Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organization newline(PESO), more number of fire accidents and injuries are occurred in the fireworks newlineindustry. To save the life of workers as well as to promote fireworks business, newlinethis research study is proposed to diagnose problem in the fireworks industry. newlineThe methods applied in research are FMEA, AHP as well as TOPSIS. newlineThe research study be separated keen on two phases. In the phase I study, newlinea survey method is applied to collect information by a questionnaire between newlinethe workers of fireworks in a randomly participation, to get their opinion about newlinesafety culture environment as well as real scenario existing in the fireworks newlineunits. The collected primary data is verified by means of tests in consistency and newlinesoundness by SPSS package and AMOS software. A risk matrix is formulated for newlinefireworks units to understand genuineness happening in the fireworks industry newlineamong the workers mind set. newlineIn the phase II research study, FMEA sheet is applied to formulate newlinefifty seven failure modes based on various processes of fireworks industry as a newlinesource of risk criterions like occurrence, severity and detection. TOPSIS method newlineis a mathematical technique applied in the direction of ordering risk failure newlinemodes by giving input as linguistic variables rated by three expert team members newlinelike chemist, foreman and supervisor of fireworks industry. newline
