Abstract: | Abstract: newlineIntroduction: As vamana is the prime lineof treatment, ekakushtha generally is treated with vamana. In all the studies the medicine used for vamana is Madanaphala and Yashtimadhu combination in vamana group or one of the groups, which is common medicine used for vamana. In the chapter Kushtha chikitsa Kutaja, Madanaphala, Yashtimadhu, Madanaphala and Patola are the drugs with the use of decoction of which, vamana can be administered. If the combination from the treatment part of kushtha is suggested for vamana, it may be postulated to have better efficacy than the common or general combination used for vamana. It may have some added action against the pathology of psoriasis. Aim: - Evaluation of comparative efficacy of kutajadi vamaka yoga versus Madanadi vamaka yoga in the management of Ekakushtha (Psoriasis). Primary objectives: 1. To study the effect of vamana by Kutajadi yoga on psoriasis with the help of PASI scale. 2. To study the effect of vamana by Madanadi yoga on psoriasis with the help of PASI scale. 3. To compare the efficacy of vamana by Kutajadi yoga and Madanadi yoga in ekakushtha (Psoriasis). Study type: Randomized Controlled Trial Study design: - Randomized parallel group active controlled trial Methodology: Two groups madanadi vamaka yoga and kutajadi vamaka yoga with 50 patients each were analysed. Results: Vamana by kutajadi yoga was found to be highly significant in psoriasis. There was a large raise in the number of patients in group of score nothing to mild (score 0 to 5), from 00% to 52% on PASI scale. Vamana by Madanadi Yoga was found to be significant in psoriasis. In the bracket of score (0 to 5), meaning nothing to mild on PASI scale, number of patients were increased from 00% to 24% patients on PASI scale. Vamana by Kutajadi Yoga is more efficacious than Madanadi Yoga in psoriasis. Mild group found with 24% improvement in control group compared to 52% in in experimental achieving 28% superiority.
