Abstract: | Natural fibre composite materials have gained significant attention as newlinesustainable alternatives to traditional synthetic composites due to their newlineeco-friendly nature, renewable sources, and potential for a wide range of newlineapplications. Natural fibre composites are composite materials where newlinethe reinforcing fibres are derived from renewable natural sources such as newlineplants, animal sources (wool, silk), and even recycled materials (paper, newlinewood). These fibres offer several advantages, including low density, newlinebiodegradability, excellent specific strength, and good vibration damping newlineproperties. The potential applications of natural fibre composites are diverse newlineand expanding rapidly. In the automotive industry, these composites are being newlineexplored for manufacturing interior components, door panels, and structural newlineparts. The aerospace sector is investigating their use in non-structural elements newlinesuch as cabin interiors and secondary components. newlineIn the construction industry, natural fibre composites can find newlineapplications in roofing materials, insulation panels, and reinforcement elements. newlineTheir lightweight nature and thermal insulation properties make them attractive newlinefor energy-efficient building solutions. Additionally, these composites are being newlineexplored in consumer goods such as furniture, packaging, and sports equipment. newlineAreca catechu, commonly known as the betel nut palm, is a tropical newlineplant widely cultivated for its edible nuts. Apart from its culinary applications, newlinethe plant also offers valuable fibres. Areca Catechu Fibre (ACF) is a natural newlinelignocellulosic material that exhibits several desirable properties, making it newlinesuitable for various industrial and commercial applications. newline newline |
