Abstract: Plants can produce a large number of diverse bioactive compounds. These bioactive compounds, such as phenolic and flavonoid compounds, have gained recognition for their therapeutic potential including antioxidant, anti inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. The growing awareness and increased standard of living has led to a heightened sense of health consciousness thus making people look for natural alternatives for better healthcare. Among the myriad plant species containing these valuable compounds, the banyan tree (Ficus benghalensis), peepal tree (Ficus religiosa), and jamun (Syzygium cumini), which are indigenous to the Indian sub continent, have emerged as particularly compelling subjects. These trees have not only played pivotal roles in traditional medicinal practices but also represent a rich source of bioactive compounds that could significantly impact the fields of pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals. The significance of this study is rooted in the quest to harness the full potential of bioactive compounds from these plant sources. The extraction process stands as the first and most vital step in the qualitative and quantitative analysis of these secondary metabolites. One of the difficulties faced in the study of extraction of bioactive compounds is the lack of substantial guidelines that recommend the usage of a single or the most favourable extraction technique for the valuable compound elution from the vast classes of phytochemicals present in the solid matrix newline
