Abstract: Recently, there has been a rise in demand for water sources devoid of organic contaminants. Membrane filtration is a more preferable option than the conventional treatment process. Fouling has become a significant challenge for filtration industries in recent times. The development of an antifoulant hydrophilic membrane with enhanced flux and separation efficiency is a promising approach for treating contaminants from water source. Assessing the performance of polymer and biopolymer nanocomposite membranes assists in fulfilling the filtration needs within the industry. Nanoparticles, such as superparamagnetic iron oxide nano additives (SPIONs) and titanium-incorporated magnetic mesoporous silica (TiO2-MMS), are excellent candidates to enhance membrane efficacy. In addition, the incorporation of a biocompatible hydrophilic additive called poly (methyl vinyl ether maleic anhydride) (PMVEAMA) significantly enhances the filtration of the membrane. This additive also helps to modify the base membranes such as poly (ether-ether sulfone) (PEES) polymer and poly (lactic acid) (PLA) biopolymer from hydrophobic to hydrophilic newline
