dc.description.abstract | Copper/diamond composites have emerged as promising materials for cutting and machining tools, electrical contacts, sliding and bearing surfaces owing to their exceptional wear resistance and potential for enhancing device performance. In this doctoral thesis, extensive experimental investigations were conducted to explore the tribological, mechanical, and thermal behavior of copper/diamond composites with reinforced micro-diamond particles. The study aimed to uncover the influence of varying weight percentages of diamond particles on the properties of the composites. The composites were fabricated using powder metallurgy techniques, and their performance was evaluated through comprehensive characterization and testing. The investigation began by synthesizing copper matrix composites with different weight percentages of diamond particles. The powder metallurgy approach allowed for the homogenous distribution of the micro-diamond particles within the copper matrix. This method ensured the formation of a robust composite structure, providing a platform to analyze the effects of diamond particle reinforcement on various material properties. | - |
