Abstract: | Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness of the breast crawl method on selected newborn and maternal outcomes. To find out the association between selected Newborn and Maternal Outcomes with their selected demographic variables in the experimental group. Hypothesis: There is a significant difference in the post-test level of selected newborn and maternal outcomes among mothers between the experimental and control group. There is a significant association between the post-test level of selected newborn and maternal outcomes among mothers in the experimental group with selected demographic variables. Conceptual framework: Modified Ernestine Widenbech s model of midwifery practice. The Helping Art of Clinical Nursing . Methodology: A Quantitative Approach with a quasi-experimental design using non-probability convenient sampling at govt. hospital, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Results: The results depict that at the plt 0.001l level, the breast crawl method had a significant favorable impact on breastfeeding initiation, Newborn Temperature at 1 hour, time of placental expulsion, episiotomy pain perception, and involution of uterine II PPD. The findings also demonstrated that there is a statistically significant difference in newborn and maternal outcomes between the experimental and control groups at the plt0.001level. Conclusion: The study concluded that Breast crawl is found to be an efficient approach for initiating early breastfeeding, maintaining effective body temperature, shortening the duration of placental expulsion, reducing episiotomy pain perception, and assisting in early uterine involution. newlineKeywords: Breast crawl, initiation of breastfeeding, Newborn Temperature, time of placental expulsion, episiotomy pain perception, and involution of the uterus. newline |
