Recently, perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have gained significant newlineattention in the photovoltaic industry due to their unique optical and electrical newlineproperties. These properties made them a potential rival for the currently newlinedominant silicon solar cells. However, the commercialization of the PSCs is newlineobstructed owing to their instability (due to moisture and heat) and usage of newlinehigh-cost materials (spiro-MeOTAD and Au/Ag-based metal electrode) as newlinewell as the deposition techniques of metal electrodes, which require high newlineenergy consumption. The hole transport material-free C-PSCs are a promising newlinesolution for these issues. As the effect due to hole transport layer (HTL) is newlinenegligible in this device architecture, it is important to focus on the interface newlinebetween the electron transport layer (ETL) and the perovskite layer. Among newlineseveral semiconductor materials, TiO2 has gained widespread use as an newlineelectron transport material (ETM). This thesis focusses to enhance the power newlineconversion efficiency (PCE) and stability of the PSCs by utilizing an newlineunexplored combination of phase and nanostructure of TiO2-based ETL. It newlinecomprises six chapters, and a summary of each is provided below. newlineThe opening chapter delivers an overview of energy, solar cells, newlineand PSCs. The working mechanism and different architectures of PSCs are newlineexplained in detail. Finally, the importance of C-PSC, ETL, and TiO2 are newlinesuccinctly described. newline
