dc.description.abstractConcrete stands out as the most versatile and distinctive material within the construction industry. However, its longevity can be compromised by deterioration resulting from various environmental factors. This deterioration accelerates significantly when the steel embedded in the concrete begins to corrode. The degradation caused by corrosion in reinforcedcement concrete structures is a widespread and recurring global issue. To maintain the anticipated strength and lifespan, resilient concrete proves invaluable in delivering exceptional service. Historically, research efforts predominantly concentrated on concrete strength. Yet, the emergence of harshenvironments has shifted recent research towards investigating the endurance and prolonged efficacy of reinforced concrete structures. Numerous studies have confirmed that the lifespan of reinforced cement concrete structures can be prolonged through various strategies and interventions. These include the adoption of higher-strength concrete,increased concrete cover thickness, utilization of mineral and chemical admixtures, application of coatings on steel and concrete surfaces, incorporation of corrosion inhibitors, as well as anodic and cathodic protection methods. newline
