Abstract: The thesis aims to enhance the security, cost-effectiveness, and efficiency of data delivery in Vehicular Internet of Things (VIoT) Networks. It adopts a decentralized approach for various key management tasks such as group key access, key generation, distribution, and updates among vehicles and commuters. Utilizing the master key encryption approach, the thesis achieves an average rekeying minimization of 84.84% with the Group IT scheme. This reduction in rekeying helps to decrease storage overhead and enhances computation and communication efficiency within the VIoT network. The RFID-based authentication protocol ensures secure data delivery to end-users. Performance evaluation of the protocol indicates a reduction in tag storage by 33.33% compared to existing schemes. Additionally, the total storage cost on the reader and cloud server is reduced by 66.66% compared to other schemes. Moreover, the proposed scheme demonstrates superior performance in communication cost, with a 50% reduction in tag to reader communication cost compared to existing schemes, which typically have a 75% higher communication cost. This analysis underscores the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed RFID-based authentication protocol in optimizing storage and communication costs for secure data delivery. Further, these secure data are routed through the vehicular IoT network s security metrics-based route discovery protocol. Security is ensured by checking source authentication and adding security metrics to the routing information. Overall, the system performance is enhanced compared to the existing protocol. newline
