Abstract: | The present study was conducted among Middle School Girls of urban and rural areas newlineof Sultanpur district. Thousands of middle school girls from nearby rural and urban newlineareas of schools were selected. Out of which, 5 urban and 5 rural schools were randomly newlineselected to represent the population. Having seen the scenario of the male and female newlineliteracy ratio, it was found that there was wide space created in reasoning and newlineunderstanding of these girls in the family, in the school and in the surroundings which newlinecauses great mental stress and crisis in adjustment to the female and especially middle newlineschool girls. So, it was felt to explore the need to take up this issue by surveying the newlinemiddle school girls of the age 11 to 17 years. 1000 girls participated in the present newlinestudy. Out of which 500 girls from 5 Urban Middle Schools and 500 girls from 5 Rural newlineMiddle Schools of Sultanpur district, Uttar Pradesh were taken for the purpose of the newlinestudy. Random sampling and survey method was procured for the present study. While newlinefinalizing the test items, their responses were measured as per the Bells Adjustment newlineScale (2006) and Nagpal and Sen Well- Being Inventory scale (1992). newlineEqual number of the respondents (50%) were belonging to the urban and rural schools. newlineMaximum student surveys were from class VII and IX which in total was equals to newline42.6% which was approximately of 43% of total. The findings showed that Rural and newlineurban middle school girls have same level of adjustment Problems. They also have high newlineHome Adjustment Problems and Emotional Adjustment problem and have same level newlineof level of Mental Health. newlineThere was significant difference in the health adjustment, home adjustment and newlineemotional adjustment.
