Abstract: | Introduction - Disruptive mood dysregulation disorder (DMDD) is a mental disorder in children and adolescents characterized by a persistently irritable or angry mood and frequent temper outbursts that are disproportionate to the situation and significantly more severe than the typical reaction of same-aged peers. Objectives of the study the objective of the study was to assess the existing knowledge regarding disruptive mood dysregulation disorder before a structured teaching Programme, evaluate the post-test knowledge score regarding identification and management of disruptive mood dysregulation disorder after a structured teaching programme, and assess the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on knowledge regarding identification and management of disruptive mood dysregulation disorder, compare the effectiveness of teaching programme regarding identification and management of disruptive mood dysregulation disorder among teachers, parents, and healthcare workers, and to find the association between post-test knowledge score with selected socio-demographic variables. Research Methodology -The quantitative research approach was adopted in the study. A pre-experimental one-group pre-test and post research design were used in the study. A total of 480, parents, School teachers, and Healthcare workers were selected as samples where 160 members were included from each category. The setting for the present study was the Dhamtari district. The self-structured questionnaires were prepared to assess the knowledge of parents, School teachers, and Healthcare workers regarding the identification and management of disruptive mood dysregulation disorder. Result -The overall pre-test knowledge mean score was 15.94, the Mean percentage was 39.85, the Standard Deviation was ± 7.97 and the post-test knowledge mean score was 33.26, the Mean percentage was 83.15 and the Standard Deviation was ± 4.25. |
