Abstract: | newline Retrosynthesis is a vital process in the manufacture of broad medicines. It involves the systematic analysis of a target molecule, with the goal of identifying the starting materials and synthetic routes that can be used to synthesize the target molecule. In other words, retrosynthesis is a way of working backwards from the target molecule to determine the sequence of reactions that must be carried out to produce it. The key advantage of retrosynthesis is that it allows chemists to optimize the synthesis of a target molecule by identifying the most efficient and cost-effective route to its production. This is particularly important in the manufacture of generic drugs, where the focus is on producing a chemically equivalent version of a branded drug at a lower cost. To carry out retrosynthesis, chemists use a variety of tools and techniques, including computer modelling and simulation, as well as their own knowledge and experience. They begin by analysing the structure of the target molecule and breaking it down into simpler building blocks, which can be synthesized using known chemical reactions. These building blocks are then combined in a step-by-step process to produce the target molecule. Throughout the retrosynthesis process. chemists must consider a sum of issues, with the availability and cost of starting materials, the toxicity and safety of the reactions, and the scalab1lity of the synthesis process. By carefully considering these factors, chemists can pamme he synthesis of a target molecule to ensure that it can be produced in large quantities at a low cost, without compromising on quality or safety |
